*The Opportunity *

Abt seeks a Technical Assistance Senior/Principal Associate to lead the growth of Technical Assistance (TA) projects in the HRSA and AHRQ markets. The selected candidate will work closely with the market leadership teams to identify areas for growth, lead capture and proposal teams, and serve as a project director for at least two large TA projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of two national HRSA and/or AHRQ projects with limited oversight including management of project budget, timeline, staff, delivery of high-quality products, and client relationships.

  • Disseminate project findings through publication of papers, progress and technical reports and presentation at seminars or conferences.

  • Contribute ideas, strategic planning, development of new products, operational plans/procedures, and technology solutions to support TA as part of the leadership team to support and grow HRSA and/or AHRQ TA projects.

  • Manage and coach staff

  • Serve as a direct supervisor for mid-career staff

  • Actively collaborate with leadership and support high-quality solution development and people management.

  • Effectively coach others to promote their development, including setting developmental goals and measurements

  • Lead business development activities

  • Develop new and maintain existing relationships with clients;

  • Lead capture and proposal teams focusing on HRSA and/or AHRQ objectives and/or technical assistance needs.

  • Design technical approaches informed by adult learning theory, learner/human-centered design, and TA implementation and evaluation frameworks.

  • Clearly communicate with clients, project staff, colleagues, and other partners orally and in writing and represent Abt in a professional manner.

  • Ensure project implementation with high client satisfaction for work completed on time and within budget.

  • Foster an environment that embraces diverse perspectives, abilities, racial/ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, gender identities and expressions, educational experiences, and life stories.

What We Value

  • Strong track record of designing and leading technical assistance projects for HRSA and/or AHRQ on a national scale for health care service delivery settings

  • Deep understanding and visibility with HRSA and/or AHRQ and the contexts of their grantees/interested parties

  • Experience embedding equity and inclusion work to identify disparities and support planning, decision-making, and implementation processes focused on advancing equity. 

  • Demonstrated ability to design holistic, systems-level strategies using data-informed thinking and community input.

  • Strong writing and communication skills, including ability to use plain language to communicate effectively with colleagues, Abt staff and other TA provider staff, and HRSA and/or AHRQ grantees and their constituents.  

  • Ability to work independently to take full ownership of assigned tasks, projects, and objectives; and work collaboratively at other times with a small team of TA providers and/or clients to successfully execute assignments. 

  • Creativity, flexibility, and innovation taking a client-centered approach and dedication to excellence.

  • Comfortable with telework technologies and work styles since the candidate would be working with colleagues and TA recipients located throughout the country. Site travel may be required.   

  • Senior Associate: Bachelor’s Degree + 15 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + 13 years of relevant experience, or PhD + 8 years of relevant experience 

  • Principal Associate: Bachelor’s Degree + 17 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + 15 years of relevant experience, or PhD + 10 years of relevant experience

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $120,000 to $222,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
